Consultation has concluded

Help shape the future priorities for the Nightcliff Village Masterplan!

You are encouraged to have your say on the draft Nightcliff Village masterplan.

The focus of the masterplan is to enhance the existing features of the Nightcliff Village beyond the market use. This will create a vibrant local centre that transforms to a new comfortable, engaging and inviting space.

Whilst the Nightcliff Markets are a key drawcard for the Nightcliff Village, the space has the potential to offer a great deal more to the community throughout the week. Features include improved pedestrian access, activation of laneways, additional landscaping and upgrades to seating, shading and stormwater drains.

The plan aligns to City of Darwin’s strategic direction of ‘A capital city with best practice and sustainable Infrastructure'. The design goals are focussed on delivering 'a cool, green and clean' space for the enjoyment of the community.

In 2022, a thorough planning and stakeholder consultation process was undertaken to inform the design.

City of Darwin wants to hear from stakeholders and community to help prioritise the features we all value most.

You are invited to view City of Darwin’s draft Nightcliff Village Masterplan and encouraged to share your thoughts by completing the survey or visiting one of the community engagement stalls in person (no booking required):

  • Smith Street Mall (Darwin CBD) - 8am - 10am Wednesday 22nd March
  • Nightcliff Foreshore (near the jetty) - 5pm - 7pm Wednesday 22nd March
  • Nightcliff Village Markets - 9am - 11am Sunday 26th March

Community consultation closes 3pm Friday 7 April 2023.
