Consultation has concluded

City of Darwin is proud to present our draft Municipal Plan for 2025/26 for public feedback.

We continue to strive to achieve the goals set out in our strategic plan, Darwin 2030: City for People. City of Colour to ensure Darwin is a culturally diverse, inclusive and vibrant city.

The 2025/26 Municipal Plan focuses on creating a collaborative and accessible community and delivering grassroots community infrastructure.

We have committed to enhancing quality of life for residents through an operating expenditure of $148 million, which will deliver services, programs, and initiatives that directly benefit the community.

Highlights of the Municipal Plan include:

  • $91.5 million total capital works program
  • $36.33 million waste management operations and investment
  • $9.6 million maintaining our parks, tree planting and maintenance
  • $4.8 million connectivity and accessibility
  • $4.2 million for libraries
  • $2.72 million playground recreational spaces and refurbishments
  • $1.9 million animal management program
  • $1.9 million in funding through sponsorships, grants and in-kind support
  • $1.33 million arts and culture
