City of Darwin is currently drafting a submission on the proposal to NTG and we would love to hear your thoughts on who you would prefer to be providing you with your Council services.

City of Darwin’s mission is to work with the community and our partners to provide leadership and deliver services that create opportunities to enhance the economic, cultural and environmental sustainability of Darwin.

Council recently released its Draft 2021-22 Municipal Plan and Budget where we have committed a record breaking $91.5 million in capital works to deliver our Better City. Better Suburbs. Programs over the next 12 months.

These include:

• $25M for the Casuarina Aquatic and Leisure Centre redevelopment
• $30M for the Civic Centre redevelopment
• $32.7M investment in waste management
• $9.3M to maintain our parks
• $2.5M to maintain our street and public lighting
• $1.9M to create a Safer Darwin
• $1.8M for our animal management program
• $1.3M Tree Establishment Program.

City of Darwin delivers many benefits for its ratepayers and residents including:

• 4 libraries
• 8 tennis courts at 3 locations
• 3 swimming pools
• 3 community centres
• 9 parks with exercise stations
• 241 play items at 149 locations
• Waste and recycling services
• Improving and maintaining property and assets
