Consultation has concluded

Gardens oval


AFL Northern Territory and Northern Territory Cricket presented a proposal to Council to install lights at Gardens Oval 1, which is located on the corner of Gardens Road and Gilruth Avenue.

Community Consultation

True North Strategic Communication delivered a community consultation on behalf of AFLNT and NT Cricket. The consultation report was presented to Council on the 17 October 2017.

On the 26 June a report was presented to Council provide the detailed design and documentation. It also included responses to the community concerns raised through the consultation process:

Project Update

Development permits have been granted for the sports lighting at Gardens Oval, Bagot Oval and Nightcliff Oval. The project has been awarded to local company ESPEC Lighting Specialists and will be delivered in the 2020 Dry Season.
