Consultation has concluded
Have you checked out the new all-access play space in Jingili?
Community feedback was vital to creating an all-inclusive design that was meaningful to the local community. At the heart of the playground is a public art play piece Gurambai Magical Mangroves, a green ant's nest structure with the designs reflective of the local environment and were created by artists who all live and work with disabilities. You will also see beautiful designs on the shade structure which were created by the same artists.
Located in Jingili Water Gardens the new play space also includes an all accessible slide, sandpit, a carousel, swings, a toddler play area, a climbing net and much more.
City of Darwin collaborated with Variety NT, National Disability Insurance Agency, Sterling NT, Milne and Stonehouse, and the Free Space Studio on this project.
Artists: Samantha Callaghan, Tara Darcy, Wendy Lamble, Abigail Maralngurru, Angelique Martin and Joanne van Roden.
