What other animal management initiatives are TOPROC working on?

    •             Reciprocal registration

    •             Lifetime and five year registrations

    •             Alignment of registration categories

    •             Shared animal education marketing campaigns

    •             Shared online registration systems

    •             Shared dangerous dogs register

Where can I get an animal registration form?

How do I pay for animal registration?

Animal registration payments can be made:

    • at any Australia Post Office (please take your renewal notice)
    • on line at www.darwin.nt.gov.au and select Pay On Line/Pay Dog or Cat Renewal and enter the animal number that is on your renewal notice
    • by credit card over the telephone on 89300556
    • by mail to City of Darwin, GPO Box 84, Darwin, NT 0801
    • in person at the Civic Centre, Harry Chan Avenue, Darwin

Can I pay for registration for longer than one year?

City of Darwin was the only TOPROC Council to offer lifetime and five-year animal registrations and from 1 July 2020 will withdraw these registration options.

These options were introduced in 2018/19 as part of the Dog & Cat Management Strategy 2018 – 2022 as an incentive to increase low registration numbers. The efficacy of lifetime and five-year registration periods is low.

Withdrawing these registration options also allows for reciprocal registration to occur between TOPROC Councils. This assists residents who relocate between municipalities and reduce the administration burden regarding part payments and refunds.
