About the program

Gardens for Wildlife is a free program for City of Darwin residents who are interested in creating habitat for local wildlife in their space. The program contributes to increasing wildlife corridors across Darwin and local understanding and appreciation of our unique environment and wildlife.

Why join?

Gardens for Wildlife helps connect the Darwin community to our local environment by providing residents with the tools and resources to create wildlife-friendly gardens that support our urban forest.

As a Gardens for Wildlife member, you will receive:

  • an initial garden visit to survey your garden, discuss the program and answer

  • an initial garden visit to survey your garden, discuss the program and answer any questions you have about native gardening and providing better habitat
  • a starter pack including the Creating Habitat for Darwin Gardens booklet and Gardens for Wildlife fence sign
  • newsletters with relevant local news, upcoming events and gardening tips
  • invitations to Gardens for Wildlife events including talks and workshops with local flora and fauna experts
